This is Kujenga–a project founded with one ultimate goal: to connect children from across the globe to increase the happiness, well-being, and standard of living for all.
Connecting youth from very different backgrounds and very diverse cultures presents an interesting challenge, but not an impossible one. No language barrier, no political strife, no cultural norm, and no financial circumstance can prevent an individual from understanding an act of true kindness.
Kindness, fortunately, is something that everyone is capable of—and it can begin with a simple sketch. I am calling out to all children: pick up your crayons, and draw a picture of Africa—its people, its wildlife, its landscape, et cetera, and send it to me. I will publish these artworks–all credit going to the young artist, of course–and sell them, with all proceeds going to benefit those struggling communities that touched my heart in rural Kenya. These artistic contributions of our youth toward the well-being of these African children are greatly appreciated, and I assure you that each young artist would receive a word of thanks from the African community that their artwork helped to uplift.
How can you get involved? Well, simply grab your crayons and a white sheet of paper, and draw. Draw Africa, for the Africans that need your help. Feel Africa. Create Africa. Kujenga Afrika.
Please, on the back of your artwork or on a separate sheet of paper, include the artist’s name, age, and city—and a personal message, if you wish.
Drawings can be scanned and submitted by E-mail to the Kujenga Project: kujengaproject@gmail.com
